Dementia Alliance International (DAI) is a registered non-profit 501 (c) (3) charity launched on January 1, 2014. Membership is free and is inclusively for people with a medically confirmed diagnosis of any type of a dementia from all around the world. DAI seeks to represent, support, and educate others living with the disease, and the wider dementia community, striving to provide a unified voice of strength, advocacy and support for our rights, individual autonomy and improved quality of life. Our vision is A world where all people are valued and included, with a philosophy of nothing about us, without all of us. People with dementia can sign up to become a member of DAI here. DAI is in a strategic partnership with Alzheimer’s Disease International and Dementia Australia.
Current services include weekly peer to peer support groups, Living Alone Social Support groups, and one to one peer mentoring and buddying. DAI has previously provided online monthly cafes for members and their families and friends, educational monthly online Webinars, and a twice monthly Brain Health meeting. DAI provides other opportunities for members to become active as advocates, including public speaking and global advocacy, joining sub committees, writing blogs and other articles for our website. DAI has active social media channels including Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and an award-winning YouTube channel, and provides members with opportunities to become active in research projects. DAI is delighted to be an organisational champion to StepUp For Dementia Research.
